We finally got sunshine for the second Sunset Reset event at Irvine Beach.

This event felt truly special because of the weather and the fact that the sun was almost setting whilst we were on the beach. However, it would be a lie to say there was a little stress pre-event!
Upon arrival at the beach I was met with coastguards, ambulances, police and a lot of teens enjoying themselves down the beach...I started to worry this was not the zen event I had hoped. However I soon realised that the people who had come along made the event exactly what it was.....a success!!

We started off with a 4k run around Irvine Beach park where we had a mix of abilities, with some walking, others looping and plenty taking photos of the amazing sky.
I always have a few helpers in the group and for this I wish to thank Claire for designing and leading the run, Anneka for being in the midst keeping everyone going, and Joyce being my tail walker/runner.

After our run (and after a few of our runners grabbed a quick cone from the ice cream van) we had a fun and energetic yoga on the beach where there were some giggles, lots of movement and we chilled a bit after our run and got us excited for our sea dip.

From the photos above, I don't think you'd believe me if I told you this beach was rather busy!!
The cold water dip is what makes this event. There's always a mix of newbies and seasoned dippers which makes it all the more special. As it has been a bit warmer, the water was lovely and pleasant and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos, videos and just generally have a chat in the water.

It's always difficult to pin point my favourite moment of the night as the whole night is amazing from start to finish, however the chat on the beach after our swim was my favourite.
I spoke to several ladies who had come to the event on their own; some as a challenge to do something for themselves and others who just didn't have friends who shared this hobby.
Creating these spaces is my absolute dream, and I can't wait for the next one.
If you fancy coming along, check out the Events page for the next one!
